Art Talk: Tonight the art crawl on Camden drew a good crowd. Several hundred people stopped in and that was great considering Charlotte Shout! and The Greek Festival were drawing crowds of their own.

I received many positive comments to continue on my path and keep going, which I need since my spouse keeps reminding me that what I do I should view as “a hobby” and nothing more. I have to ignore this, especially when I keep receiving signs that tell me otherwise. For instance, one of my paintings sold on Labor Day Monday by a visitor that was interested in decorating his new apartment. Another person that I do not know and felt like my art made him feel good. My 8 x 10 image of cherries was priced accordingly at $165 so he left feeling good about his decision. I think we had 2 or maybe 3 visitors max on this 105 degree day, and it did seem that hot both inside and outside the co-op gallery where my studio is. We have only fans and a few ac units! Art is a hard sell, people do not necessarily need it. Having someone buy art on a 105 degree day I would think is a sign that I listen to my heart and keep filling my life with art, music, inspiring moments and new challenges.

Below, I have finished a previous daily study of a painting-a-day work by putting in a sail boat that is “moving,” a few waves and an horizon line. I like it better now. I see the sail boat representative of unwavering thinking…. “I know like I know it is on its way!”

Quote for daily painters: I am sending out to the universe that I will attract the way and the people needed. I also hope that I will attract the same abundance for my friends that are in a holding pattern. Deliver it all for us!

I bought this song and added to my ipod: Top Of The World lyrics – by The Carpenters

Such a feelings coming over me
There is wonder in most everything I see
Not a cloud in the sky

Got the sun in my eyes
And I wont be surprised if its a dream

Everything I want the world to be
Is now coming true especially for me

And the reason is clear
Its because you are here
You’re the nearest thing to heaven that I’ve seen

I’m on the top of the world lookin down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I’ve found ever since you’ve been around
Your loves put me at the top of the world

Something in the wind has learned my name
And its tellin me that things are not the same
In the leaves on the trees and the touch of the breeze
There’s a pleasin sense of happiness for me

There is only one wish on my mind
When this day is through I hope that I will find
That tomorrow will be just the same for you and me

All I need will be mine if you are here

(The lyrics are perfect to help you visualize gratitude.) I am working on 2 very large paintings and look forward to posting them at the next stage of production. Thanks for viewing!
